Writer's Workshop - 6 little words

I follow many different kinds of blogs. Most revolve around my hobbies. Others are more of a self help type of role in my life. Lately I have been loving the blog Mama's Losin It.  Today's entry over there was to write a six word memoir: Write about a significant time in your life in just six words.

So here is mine: "Family time is my most favorite."

My explanation: My DD is eighteen years old and graduating from high school tomorrow afternoon. She is at a crossroad in her life. A crossroad that I have been having a hard time dealing with. She is my only child and it is so hard for me to let her move on to adulthood. But today she did not have any plans with friends or boyfriends. So my hubby and the two of us had a "sit at the dining room table" meal and sat around all evening watching kid movies. It was the most fun I have had in a long time with her. I just cherish our family time and was so happy she initiated our plans this evening. Thanks Nicole!! I am so proud of you!! I love you!!

Until next time...

  2. Having recently gone through this with my own daughter, I know how hard it is. We now live 500 miles apart, but we talk daily and really celebrate the days we get to spend together. Hang in there!

  3. Those family times do become even more special when you see your kids growing into adulthood.
I have a 22 yr. old along with my toddlers. We live in different states, and sometimes I wish I could turn back the hands of time to when I got to see him everyday.

It sounds as if you've done a great job and have every right to be proud of her and yourself.
